My pronouns are 'he/him.' I am the son of immigrants, born and raised in West Michigan. Because I grew up in a largely homogenous community, I had a habit of standing out even when I didn't want to. That said, my experiences have given me a rather unique outlook on life.

I'm married to the love of my life, and we have a ton of cool adventures together and with our friends. We also have four furry children: a dog named Mega-Man and three cats named Elric, Richard, and Gracie.

You’ll notice that I’ve chosen the title Visual Media Specialist for myself because my career spans a broad range of different visual disciplines. I received my BFA in Digital Media from Kendall College of Art and Design. Shortly after, I joined School Zone Publishing as a Media Graphics Producer, creating visuals for various print projects (workbooks, flashcards, etc.) and their expansive library of educational games and apps. Five years later, I joined the marketing team at Mobile Defenders as the Senior Graphic Designer, where I took on the responsibility of archiving their entire visual media library and standardizing the company’s branding and operational procedures for my seat.

At the height of the pandemic, Mobile Defenders downsized my team, which left several gaps that needed filling. During this time, I also took on the role of photographer and video production specialist. I had to learn the skills for these roles on the job, which is a testament to how I can commit myself to professional development. My time at Mobile Defenders eventually ran its course, and I found myself as the Web Department Lead at Avalanche Creative. During this time, I also took on an Adjunct Faculty role in the Digital Media Department of my alma mater, Kendall.

Every team I’ve been a part of has recognized my ability to integrate into an existing culture while bringing my unique perspective. My teammates have always seen me as easy to work with, more than competent in my roles, and someone they can turn to in a tight spot. Plus, I have a penchant for being able to navigate difficult conversations and subjects with amenability and level-headedness.
